The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Special Needs and Equal Opportunities, Hon. Mohammed Abba Isa, has congratulated Senator (Dr.) Ibrahim Gaidam, CON, on the occasion of his 70th birthday, describing him as an exceptional leader, role model and elder statesman whose contributions to national development remain worthy of commendation.

Abba Isa, in a goodwill message, said he was celebrating Gaidam on behalf of over 35.1 million Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) across Nigeria, noting that the former Yobe State Governor and serving Minister of Police Affairs had distinguished himself through years of public service, leadership and commitment to the nation.

The presidential aide extolled Gaidam’s leadership qualities, describing him as a man of integrity, wisdom, humility and uncommon dedication to duty.

According to him, Gaidam’s public service trajectory—from his tenure as Executive Governor of Yobe State, to his service as Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and his current responsibility as Minister of Police Affairs—reflects a life devoted to the service of humanity and the development of Nigeria.

He particularly commended Gaidam’s commitment to good governance, peace, security and inclusive development, stressing that his leadership has continued to inspire younger generations of Nigerians.

Abba Isa also acknowledged the former governor’s commitment to policies and programmes that promote inclusion and improve the welfare of vulnerable and marginalised groups, describing such efforts as consistent with the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

He said the disability community recognises and appreciates leaders who understand that national development must be inclusive and that Persons with Disabilities must have equal opportunities to participate meaningfully in the affairs of the country.

The SSA said Gaidam’s record of service, particularly his contributions to the development of Yobe State and his current role in strengthening Nigeria’s internal security architecture, demonstrated his enduring commitment to the progress and stability of the country.

He prayed to God to grant the celebrant continued wisdom, good health, strength and greater opportunities to serve the nation.

“On behalf of over 35.1 million Persons with Disabilities in Nigeria, I celebrate an exceptional and quintessential leader, role model and elder statesman, Senator (Dr.) Ibrahim Gaidam, CON, on the occasion of his 70th birthday.

“Your life of service, leadership and devotion to duty continues to inspire us. We particularly commend your commitment to inclusion, good governance, peace and security, as well as your contributions to the development of our dear nation.

“At 70, your wealth of experience and wisdom remains a valuable asset to Nigeria. We pray that Almighty Allah will continue to strengthen you and grant you many more years in good health and fulfilment,” Abba Isa said.

The presidential aide wished Senator Gaidam a happy 70th birthday and a rewarding new decade of service to humanity and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
