The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Special Needs and Equal Opportunities, Hon. Mohammed Abba Isa, has congratulated the Chairman of the Abia State Disability Commission, Hon. Dr. David Obinna Anyaele, on the occasion of his birthday, describing him as a committed advocate and a strong voice for the rights and inclusion of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in Nigeria.

In a congratulatory message issued by his Director of Media and Communications, Lanre Oloyede, Abba Isa commended Anyaele for his longstanding commitment to advancing disability rights, promoting equal opportunities and amplifying the voices of PWDs at both state and national levels.

The presidential aide described Anyaele’s dedication to disability inclusion as significant to the broader struggle for a society in which Persons with Disabilities can participate fully and equitably in social, economic and political life.

Abba Isa particularly acknowledged Anyaele’s leadership as Chairman of the Abia State Disability Commission, noting that his advocacy and public service have contributed to keeping disability rights and inclusion firmly on the policy agenda.

He said Anyaele had consistently demonstrated that disability advocacy goes beyond raising awareness, stressing the importance of translating rights into tangible opportunities, effective policies and improved access to public services.

“Your tireless dedication to advocating for the rights and inclusion of Persons with Disabilities, particularly through your leadership of the Abia State Disability Commission, is truly commendable.

“You have remained a strong voice for inclusion and an inspiration to many who continue to work for a society where every person, regardless of disability, can realise their full potential,” Abba Isa said.

The Senior Special Assistant further noted that Anyaele’s contribution to the disability movement extends beyond Abia State, describing his advocacy as part of the wider national effort to strengthen the participation, dignity and equal opportunities of PWDs.

According to him, the Federal Government’s commitment to disability inclusion under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda requires sustained collaboration among government institutions, disability leaders, Organisations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs), civil society and other stakeholders.

He therefore expressed optimism that the partnership among stakeholders in the disability sector would continue to produce stronger advocacy, better policies and practical interventions that improve the lives of millions of Nigerians with disabilities.

“Your unwavering commitment to ensuring that Persons with Disabilities are empowered and included in all spheres of life is a legacy that will continue to inspire the disability movement and contribute to building a more inclusive Nigeria,” Abba Isa added.

The presidential aide wished Anyaele many more years of good health, strength, fulfilment and impactful service, while expressing confidence that he would continue to contribute to the advancement of disability rights and equal opportunities in Nigeria.

“As you celebrate another year today, I celebrate not only your life but also your courage, resilience and commitment to the cause of inclusion.

“May the years ahead bring you renewed strength and greater opportunities to continue making a difference in the lives of Persons with Disabilities and in our collective pursuit of an inclusive Nigeria,” he said.
