The Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Special Needs and Equal Opportunities, Hon. Mohammed Abba Isa, has congratulated the Director-General of the National Centre for Women Development (NCWD), Dr. Adedayo Benjamins-Laniyi, on the occasion of her birthday.
In a congratulatory message issued on Saturday by his Director of Media and Communications Strategy, Mr. Lanre Oloyede, the presidential aide described Dr. Benjamins-Laniyi as a dedicated public servant, visionary leader and advocate of women’s empowerment whose contributions to national development deserve recognition.
Abba Isa noted that Dr. Benjamins-Laniyi has continued to distinguish herself through impactful leadership and her commitment to advancing the welfare, empowerment and inclusion of women and other vulnerable groups in society.
He particularly commended her contributions during her service as Mandate Secretary for Women Affairs in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), where she championed initiatives aimed at promoting women’s development, strengthening social inclusion and expanding opportunities for disadvantaged members of society.
The presidential aide also praised her commitment to inclusive policies and empowerment programmes that recognise the needs and aspirations of women, particularly women with disabilities and other marginalised groups.
According to him, sustainable national development can only be achieved when women and other underserved populations are given the opportunity to participate meaningfully in governance, economic activities and decision-making processes.
He stressed that her leadership at the National Centre for Women Development provides an important platform for advancing women’s capacity development, promoting gender equality and strengthening the role of women in Nigeria’s social and economic transformation.
Abba Isa further emphasised the need for stronger collaboration among government institutions, development partners and relevant stakeholders to ensure that women, including women with disabilities, have equitable access to education, healthcare, employment, leadership opportunities and economic empowerment programmes.
He expressed confidence that Dr. Benjamins-Laniyi would continue to deploy her experience and commitment to public service in advancing the cause of women and contributing to the realisation of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
The presidential aide prayed for God’s continued guidance, good health, wisdom and strength for the celebrant, wishing her greater accomplishments in her personal life and public service.
He also expressed hope that her new year would bring renewed opportunities to serve humanity, inspire women and contribute to building a more inclusive and prosperous Nigeria.
