The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Special Needs and Equal Opportunities, Mohammed Abba Isa, has felicitated with Muslims across Nigeria and the world on the occasion of the 2026 Eid-El-Kabir celebration, urging Nigerians to uphold the values of sacrifice, compassion, unity, and inclusion.
In a statement issued on Thursday to commemorate the Islamic festival, Abba Isa described Eid-El-Kabir as one of the most significant events in the Islamic calendar, symbolizing obedience, faith, and total submission to the will of Almighty Allah.
The presidential aide, speaking on behalf of over 35 million Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) in Nigeria, congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the First Family, and Muslim faithful across the country, particularly Muslims with disabilities.
He commended members of the disability community for what he described as their resilience, devotion, and strength despite prevailing economic and social challenges.
According to him, the celebration serves as a reminder of the story of Prophet Ibrahim and the virtues of unwavering faith, obedience, and sacrifice as taught in the Holy Quran.
Abba Isa stated that true righteousness goes beyond religious rituals and should reflect sincerity, compassion, and commitment to helping fellow citizens, especially the less privileged.
He called on Muslims to celebrate the season with modesty, humility, and gratitude while remembering the poor and vulnerable members of society.
The presidential aide further appealed to Nigerians to extend love and support to persons with disabilities and other disadvantaged groups, noting that many of them experience additional hardships during festive periods.
“True celebration is complete only when it includes everyone,” he stated.
Abba Isa also stressed the need for national unity, peaceful coexistence, and mutual respect among Nigerians irrespective of religious, ethnic, or social differences.
He said Nigeria would continue to thrive when citizens remain united and committed to tolerance, justice, and inclusion.
The SSA prayed for Allah to accept the sacrifices of Muslims, bless Nigerian homes with peace, and grant the nation lasting unity and prosperity.
He wished Muslims across the country a peaceful and joyful Eid-El-Kabir celebration.
