The National Director, Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) Affairs of the City Boy Movement, Hon. Mohammed Abba Isa, has engaged stakeholders in the disability community in Kano as part of efforts to mobilise support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
Abba Isa, who was in Kano at the invitation of the Yobe State Governor, used the opportunity to meet with leaders and representatives of various disability clusters in the state, where he sensitised them on the need to support the Tinubu administration and its Renewed Hope Agenda.
The engagement brought together the leadership of the Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities (JONAPWD), heads of various disability clusters, including the blind, physically disabled, deaf and persons affected by leprosy, as well as other stakeholders in the disability community.
Also in attendance were the City Boy Movement’s Northwest Zonal Coordinator and the Zonal Women Leader.
Addressing the stakeholders, Abba Isa reaffirmed the commitment of the PWDs Affairs Directorate of the City Boy Movement to ensuring effective participation and mobilisation of persons with disabilities ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He briefed the gathering on preparations by the movement towards the election and highlighted various initiatives and interventions of the Federal Government aimed at improving the welfare, inclusion and economic empowerment of persons with disabilities.
The National Director urged the stakeholders to remain united, politically engaged and adequately informed, stressing the importance of supporting a government that, according to him, has demonstrated commitment to addressing the concerns of persons with disabilities.
He called on the disability community in Kano to take ownership of the political process by mobilising their members and ensuring that persons with disabilities participate actively in the 2027 elections.
Abba Isa further assured the stakeholders that the City Boy Movement would continue to engage the disability community across the country as part of its broader strategy to strengthen political participation and representation of PWDs.
The meeting ended with renewed commitments from the stakeholders to strengthen collaboration and ensure greater political awareness and participation among persons with disabilities ahead of the 2027 elections.
