The National Director of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) Mobilisation of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council (APC-PCC), Hon. Mohammed Abba Isa, on Saturday led a large delegation of Persons with Disabilities to join party faithful and thousands of Nigerians at the flag-off of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election campaign in Kaduna.

Abba Isa, who was accompanied by other leaders of the Directorate, reaffirmed the commitment of the disability community to participating actively in the political process and mobilising support for President Tinubu’s administration ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

Among the leaders who accompanied him were the Co-Director of the Directorate, Hon. Tolu Bankole; Deputy Director, Deputy Director (Women), Lois Auta; and the Secretary of the Directorate, Mr Misbau Lawal Didi.

Their presence underscored the Directorate’s determination to strengthen grassroots engagement and ensure that Persons with Disabilities are actively involved in the campaign and the broader democratic process.

The delegation joined other APC leaders, supporters and party faithful from across the country at the campaign flag-off, demonstrating the commitment of Persons with Disabilities to political participation and inclusive governance.

Abba Isa has consistently advocated greater inclusion of Persons with Disabilities in Nigeria’s political process, stressing that disability should never be a barrier to political participation, leadership or national development.

He has also emphasised the importance of ensuring that campaign activities, political communication and mobilisation strategies are accessible to persons with different categories of disabilities.

As National Director of PWDs Mobilisation, Abba Isa is expected to coordinate engagement with disability organisations, community leaders and grassroots structures across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory to strengthen the Directorate’s mobilisation efforts ahead of the election.

The Directorate’s strategy is aimed at ensuring that Persons with Disabilities are not merely spectators in the democratic process but active participants in political mobilisation, voter education and electoral decision-making.

The participation of the disability community at the Kaduna event also highlighted the importance of inclusive political campaigns that recognise the rights, aspirations and contributions of Persons with Disabilities.

Abba Isa and the Directorate’s leadership expressed confidence that sustained grassroots engagement, stronger coordination and inclusive political participation would help deepen the relationship between the APC and the disability community.

The Kaduna campaign flag-off marks another phase in the mobilisation drive as the APC intensifies efforts to rally support for President Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.
