The Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Special Needs and Equal Opportunities, Hon. Mohammed Abba Isa, is scheduled to attend the elective convention of the Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities (JONAPWD) scheduled for 18th -21st October in Kaduna State as part of efforts to strengthen stakeholder engagement and grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

Abba Isa, who also serves as the National Director of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) Mobilisation for both the City Boy Movement and the APC Presidential Campaign Council (APC-PCC), is expected to use the convention to engage leaders of the disability community and promote greater participation of persons with disabilities in the political process.

His visit will also provide an opportunity to engage disability stakeholders across Kaduna State in preparation for the flag-off of the campaign for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027.

The planned engagements are expected to focus on strengthening relationships with disability organisations, expanding membership of the City Boy Movement among persons with disabilities, and developing strategies for effective grassroots mobilisation through existing disability networks.

Abba Isa is also expected to hold consultations with traditional rulers, including the Emir of Zazzau, and other prominent community leaders as part of efforts to promote inclusive governance, strengthen community relations and broaden stakeholder participation in national political activities.

The consultations are expected to provide a platform for discussing issues affecting persons with disabilities, while encouraging traditional institutions and community leaders to support their inclusion in governance and democratic participation.

As National Director of PWDs Mobilisation for the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Abba Isa is expected to coordinate engagements with disability leaders and organisations to facilitate the participation of persons with disabilities in the party’s mobilisation activities ahead of the 2027 election.

His role in the City Boy Movement is also expected to complement these efforts through membership recruitment, grassroots outreach and the expansion of the movement’s structures within the disability community.

The visit underscores the importance of engaging persons with disabilities and their representative organisations in political processes, particularly in ensuring that their voices and interests are considered in discussions about governance, representation and national development.

Abba Isa has consistently advocated greater inclusion of persons with disabilities in leadership, decision-making and public life, in line with the principles of equal opportunities and inclusive development.

The Kaduna engagements are expected to form part of broader consultations with disability stakeholders and community leaders ahead of the anticipated commencement of campaign activities for President Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.
