Senior Special Assistant to the President on Disability Matters, Hon. Mohammed Abba Isa, has commended Kebbi State governor, Nasir Idris, for assenting to the Bill for the establishment of Kebbi State Commission for Persons with Living with Disability.
According to a statement by the Special Adviser (SA) on Media and Publicity to Kebbi State Governor, Yahaya Sarki, the governor assented to the Bill on Tuesday after it was presented by the Speaker, Kebbi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon . Muhammad Usman Ankwe following ratification by the Assembly at the Government House, Birnin Kebbi.
In a commendation letter signed by Hon. Abba Isa, the Senior Presidential aide expressed his sincere appreciation for the governor’s prompt and decisive action in assenting to the bill for the establishment of the Kebbi State Commission for Persons with Disabilities.
The SSAP noted that governor Idris’ commitment to inclusivity and the well-being of all citizens is commendable and aligns with the vision of creating a society where everyone, regardless of ability, can thrive.
He said: “The establishment of this Commission is a crucial step toward fostering an environment that recognizes and addresses the unique needs of persons living with disabilities. It is a testament to your administration’s dedication to creating a more accessible, equitable, and supportive community for all residents of Kebbi State.
“We believe that this Commission will play a pivotal role in promoting the rights and welfare of persons with disabilities, ensuring their active participation in various facets of society. By providing a platform for advocacy, empowerment, and support services, it will contribute significantly to the overall development and inclusivity of Kebbi State.
“Once again, I extend our deepest gratitude for your leadership and commitment to the well-being of all citizens, including those living with disabilities. Your Excellency, your actions reflect a government that prioritizes inclusivity and sets an exemplary standard for others to follow.
“We are pleased to inform you of our plan to pay you a courtesy visit with the objective of fashioning out modalities for collaboration and technical support in the works your Excellency is doing for the disability community in Kebbi State
