SSAP Abba Isa Honoured With Special Needs Service Award

Senior Special Assistant to the President  on Special Needs and Equal Opportunities, Hon. Mohammed Abba Isa, has been honoured with the Special Needs Service Award at the 2024 Distinguished Service Award organized by Aluta News to mark its 4th Anniversary celebration.

According to the organizers, the Award was in recognition of Hon. Abba Isa’s outstanding contributions to promoting accessibility, support and empowerment for individuals with special needs. 

The organizers further noted that Hon. Abba Isa’s tireless efforts to break down barriers and create opportunities for Persons With Disabilities to thrive has been truly inspirational.

While receiving the award, the Senior presidential aide thanked Aluta news for the recognition of service to humanity by his office and promised to continue to deliver on his mandate, as directed by His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, to improve the lives of the most vulnerable members of our society.

While dedicating the award to the over 35 million Nigerians with disabilities, Hon Abba Isa stressed that his office remains committed in its mission of advancing the inclusion, independence, and economic empowerment of PWDs and other vulnerable groups aimed at bringing about transformative impact and meaningful change for the over 35 million Nigerians with disabilities.

Hon. Abba Isa’s track record of exemplary service speaks for itself. Under his stewardship in the last one year, transformative programs have been initiated to empower PWDs through job opportunities, vocational training, startup grants, and advocacy for inclusive governance. These efforts have been widely appreciated, as evident in the testimonies of countless beneficiaries across the country.

This Awards is a significant  addition to the growing catalogue of honours and awards received by the Senior Special Assistant to the President.

Recall that last year, Hon. Abba Isa was honoured with The United States President Joe Biden’s President’s Volunteer Service Multiple Awards in recognition of his unparalleled contributions to Disablity and Women inclusion advocacy nationally and internationally. 

The SSAP also bagged a Lifetime Multiple Great Achievements & Legacies Award as Disability/Women Inclusive Global Advocate, Icon, Legend & Champion of Nigeria’s Barriers Breakers of SDGs, 2030 Agenda Heroes & Men of Distinctions.

The Awards, which was presented by Equal Rights for Persons With Disabilities International Inc and FESTAC-USA Inc, was given in commemoration of the 5th year Anniversary of signing into law of the Discrimimation Against Persons with Disabitities (Prohibition)} Act 2018 which comes up on January 23, 2024.

In November, 2023, the Senior Presidential aide won the Inspirational Leader of the year award at the Leadership Excellent Awards (LEEX 2023) organized by Igbere TV.

Same year, he was equally honoured with Disabilty Inclusion and Accessibility Leadership Award in recognition of his enourmous contributions to the struggle that led to the enactment and signing into law of the Discrimination Against Persons With Disabilities (Prohibition) Act, 2018 by Project Enable Africa.

Hon. Mohammed AbbaIsa is a distinguished champion of persons with disabilities with over a decade of experience in local and international advocacy on matters concerning persons with disabilities.

A man with a heart of gold, a strong love for humanity and desire to see the vulnerable and less privileged live a decent life.
