As part of his office’s mandate to liaise with ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs) in providing opportunities for persons with special needs, and in alignment with President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Special Needs and Equal Opportunities, Hon. Mohammed Abba Isa, has distributed food relief to vulnerable populations and Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in Damaturu, Yobe State.
In addition to the food palliatives, the beneficiaries also went home with cash support from the Senior presidential aide.
The initiative, which aims to alleviate hunger and promote inclusivity, forms part of an ongoing national effort to address the needs of vulnerable groups across Nigeria.

Recall that previous phases of the food relief program have successfully reached beneficiaries in Abuja, Adamawa, and other states, ensuring widespread impact.

Speaking at the distribution ceremony, the Senior presidential aide reaffirmed his commitment to supporting underserved populations and advancing equity in line with the administration’s goals.
“This latest phase in Yobe State reaffirms our resolve to ensure no one is left behind. We are dedicated to addressing immediate needs while fostering sustainable opportunities for persons with special needs,” the SSAP stated.

The initiative was carried out in collaboration with the Help the Amputee Foundation, a partner organization with a strong history of supporting marginalized communities.

Hon. Abba Isa expressed profound gratitude to the foundation’s Founder and President, Engineer Tizhe Kwaji, and its Chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Muhammad (Madakin Mubi), for their pivotal roles in ensuring the event’s success.
According to him, their dedication, coupled with contributions from Hon. Saratu Sabo, the Focal Person for the Yobe State Nigeria for Women Project, and Usman Bura Gabai, Chairman of the Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities (JONAPWD) Yobe State Chapter, was instrumental in reaching beneficiaries effectively.

Acknowledging the enabling role of the Yobe State Government, Hon. Abba Isa extended his appreciation to Governor Mai Mala Buni for his administration’s support.

The SSAP stated that “The immense leadership of His Excellency ensured the seamless execution of this phase of our program.

The food distribution in Yobe marks another milestone in the administration’s efforts to combat hunger and foster inclusion nationwide. It reflects the commitment to equitable resource distribution and underscores the importance of partnerships in driving social justice initiatives.

The event’s success also highlights the continuity of the government’s mission to uplift underserved communities.

The distribution in Damaturu stands as a testament to the impact of targeted interventions and partnerships, serving as a call to action for stakeholders to join hands in building a nation where every individual, regardless of ability or circumstance, can thrive.
