Ramadan: SSAP, Abba Isa distributes food palliatives to over 500 PWDs

In line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to bring succor to the less-privileged and the vulnerables, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Special Needs and Equal Opportunities, Comrade Mohammed Abba Isa, has distributed food palliatives to over 500 Persons With Disabilities PWDs in Nigeria.

The palliatives distribution which was an initiative of the office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Special Needs and Equal Opportunities was done in collaboration with the Queen Adenike Tejuosho foundation.

According to Comrade Abba Isa, the palliatives was distributed in the spirit of the Ramadan fast.

The SSAP said President Tinubu is mindful of the hardship PWDs are going through and he is working assiduously to stem the tide.

The senior presidential aide told journalists at the event that the initiative was in fulfillment with the promises of the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu.

” The Renewed Hope Agenda is all encompassing. It encompasses inclusive education, healthcare, employment, food security and empowerment for PWDs.

“There’s need to show love to the needy particularly the vulnerables during periods like the Ramadan fast.

“What we are doing is to compliment the effort of the Federal government as they can’t do it alone,” Comrade Abba Isa said.

The SSAP called on other philanthropists and good spirited Nigerians to emulate what Mrs Tejuosho is doing for the less privileged and the vulnerables, stressing that such gesture will go a long way in touching the lives of the needy.

He commended Mrs Tejuosho for this wonderful initiative, saying it is a true testimony of the Renewed Hope Agenda of Mr President.

The aide to President Tinubu noted that Persons With Disabilities who are the most vulnerable group are the custodian of the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation groups, hence the absence of a substantive minister has a multiplier effect on their socio-economic well-being.

Comrade Abba Isa appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to consider Mrs Tejuosho as the minister as she has always shown her capacity and competence in caring and catering to the needs of the less privileged.

He noted that Mrs Tejuosho has been doing this Humanitarian service for a very long time without making noise over it and she has a lot more to offer if she is appointed the Minister.

The SSAP prayed the Almighty Allah to grant the prayers of the 35 million Nigerians With Disabilities by making Mrs Tejuosho the next Minister of the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation.

Speaking on the prevailing economic situation in the country, the aide to President Tinubu appealed to Nigerians to be patient with the government to allow the policies of the Renewed Hope Agenda materializes to the point of yielding positive results.

On her path, the founder of the Queen Adenike Tejuosho Foundation, Mrs Halimat Adenike Tejuosho thanked everyone present for honoring the invitation.

Mrs Tejuosho stated that PWDs deserves people’s kindness, adding that their disabilities should not be seen as limitation.

“If you can afford three square meals a day, you should be able to provide one square meal to the vulnerable particularly the PWDs.

“Persons With Disabilities deserves our kindness, support and understanding. It is our duty to ensure they are treated with dignity and respect, and that their voices are heard and valued,” she said.
