The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Special Needs and Equal Opportunities, Hon. Mohammed Abba Isa, on behalf of over 35.5 million Nigerians with disabilities, extends his heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Bernard Muhammad Doro on his well-deserved appointment as the Honourable Minister of Humanitarian and Poverty Reduction by His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.
In a statement by his Director Media and Communications, Mr Lanre Oloyede, Hon. Mohammed Abba Isa noted that Dr. Doro’s appointment is a clear demonstration of President Tinubu’s unwavering commitment to addressing the needs of the most vulnerable citizens and a reaffirmation of the Federal Government’s dedication to promote inclusive development in Nigeria.

The Senior Special Assistant expressed confidence that Dr. Doro will bring his wealth of experience, knowledge, and leadership acumen to bear in steering the Ministry toward greater impact and efficiency. He stated that with Dr. Doro’s dynamic and purposeful leadership, the Ministry is set to experience enhanced partnerships, better coordination of national humanitarian frameworks, and forward-thinking policy initiatives that will greatly uplift the living standards of Persons with Disabilities throughout Nigeria.
“The expectations of the disability community are high, but we are confident in Dr. Doro’s ability to meet them and deliver tangible results. His impressive expertise and experience make him well-suited to tackle the challenges facing the Ministry and to drive positive, people-centered change in Nigeria’s humanitarian and social protection sectors,” Hon. Abba Isa stated.

The Senior Special Assistant further reaffirmed that the Office of the SSA to the President on Special Needs and Equal Opportunities remains open to partnership and collaboration with the new Minister and is ready to provide all necessary technical and advisory support to ensure the realization of the aspirations of over 35.5 million Nigerians with disabilities in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He added that Dr. Doro’s rich academic and professional background speaks volumes of his capacity to deliver.

Dr. Doro holds a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from the University of Jos; an LL.B in Law from the University College London (UCL); an MBA in Information Technology and Business Strategy from the University of Leicester; and an MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice from Anglia Ruskin University. He is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Business Administration and an MPhil in Leadership and Management at the Catholic University of Murcia, Spain.
Until his recent appointment, Dr. Bernard Doro served as the Financial Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), United Kingdom Chapter, where he demonstrated exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and commitment to service.
Hon. Mohammed Abba Isa concluded by reiterating his best wishes to Dr. Doro, expressing optimism that his tenure will bring about renewed vigor, inclusive growth, and impactful reforms that will improve the lives of all Nigerians, particularly persons with disabilities.
