Friends of President Tinubu and Shettima, in collaboration with the Good Leadership Support Organisation (GLSO), have called on the Nigerian youths and women to be patient with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and shelve the planned protest the best interest of the country.
This appeal came in response to the #Endbadgovernance protest being reportedly planned against the government by Nigerian youths.
At a press conference held Wednesday in Abuja the nation’s capital, the Convener/National Coordinator of the Friends of President Tinubu and Shettima, MS.Bridget Torbua Igbauke, pleaded with the would-be protesters to sheathe their swords and rather stop to ponder on the retinue of developmental strides that President Tinubu has achieved in less than 14 months in office.
Ms. Igbauke urged the masterminds to be careful not to allow themselves to be deceived and brainwashed by anarchy syndicalists.
She went ahead to itemise some of the developmental strides of President Tinubu’s government that are targeted at breaking the schakels poverty to include:
- Increase in minimum wage from N30,000 rto N70,000
- Local government autonomy achieved through pronouncement by the supreme Court.
- Federal government initiated payment of the N50,000 presidential conditional grant scheme to small businesses
- Federal government has initiated and commenced disbursement of student loans
- Increase in state allocation as every state in Nigeria has been getting a minimum of 45% more than they were getting under past governments.
Ms. Igbauke concluded that if President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had achieved these developmental strides in less than 14 months in office, he would achieve much more in four years, hence all he deserves at the moment is our unalloyed support and prayers instead of protests.
