The National Director of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) Affairs of the City Boy Movement (CBM), Hon. Mohammed Abba Isa, and the FCT Director, Hon. Lawrence, have resolved to strengthen collaboration and grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

The two principal officers reached the understanding during a courtesy visit by Abba Isa to the FCT Director on Monday, October 5, 2026, in Abuja.

Abba Isa was accompanied on the visit by the FCT Coordinator and the six Area Council Coordinators of the CBM Directorate of Persons with Disabilities Affairs.

The visit was aimed at fostering consultation, improving coordination and strengthening existing structures of the movement across the Federal Capital Territory, particularly at the Area Council and grassroots levels.

Discussions at the meeting focused on consolidating the movement’s grassroots structures, enhancing the participation and mobilisation of Persons with Disabilities, improving coordination between the FCT Directorate and Area Council coordinators, and advancing the objectives of the City Boy Movement in the territory.

The engagement also provided an opportunity for the national and FCT leadership to review existing structures and explore ways to improve collaboration among officials responsible for coordinating the movement’s activities across the six Area Councils.

Speaking during the meeting, Abba Isa commended Lawrence for his efforts in coordinating the movement’s activities and mobilising supporters across the FCT.

He noted that the FCT Director had demonstrated considerable commitment to grassroots mobilisation, placing the territory among the leading areas in the movement’s mobilisation activities.

According to Abba Isa, apart from Kano State, the FCT ranks among the leading areas in terms of mobilisation, a development he attributed to the efforts of the director and his team.

He emphasised the need to sustain the momentum through stronger coordination, regular consultations and effective engagement with Persons with Disabilities at the grassroots.

The national director also underscored the importance of building an inclusive political mobilisation structure that recognises the contributions of Persons with Disabilities and provides them with opportunities to participate meaningfully in political activities.

He stressed that effective collaboration between the national leadership, the FCT Directorate and Area Council coordinators would be essential to expanding the movement’s reach and improving its organisational capacity ahead of the 2027 general election.

The meeting reaffirmed the commitment of both officials to strengthening the movement’s presence across the FCT and coordinating grassroots engagement in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid.

The engagement forms part of ongoing efforts by the CBM Directorate of Persons with Disabilities Affairs to consolidate its structures, deepen grassroots participation and promote the inclusion of Persons with Disabilities in Nigeria’s political process.
