Congratulations and felicitations have continued to pour in for the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Special Needs and Equal Opportunities, Hon. Mohammed Abba Isa, following his appointment as Director, Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) Mobilisation for the 2027 APC Presidential Campaign Council (PCC).

The appointment, which is part of the leadership structure of the campaign council, was conveyed in a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga.

Abba Isa, who has emerged as one of the leading voices on disability inclusion within the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, expressed appreciation to the President for finding him worthy of the national assignment.

He also commended President Tinubu for what he described as his continued demonstration of commitment to the inclusion and empowerment of persons with disabilities under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

The presidential aide pledged to bring his experience, networks and commitment to the assignment, promising to work assiduously towards the effective mobilisation of persons with disabilities across the country in support of the President and the APC ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

The appointment further adds to Abba Isa’s growing responsibilities in the mobilisation and coordination of the disability community. He was recently appointed National Director, PWDs Affairs of the City Boy Movement and National Director, PWDs Affairs of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors.

His latest appointment has therefore been widely viewed by supporters and disability inclusion advocates as recognition of his sustained efforts to place disability inclusion at the centre of national development and political participation.

According to the statement by Onanuga, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima will serve as Chairman and Vice Chairman of the APC Presidential Campaign Council respectively, while APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, will also serve as Vice Chairman.

Former Zamfara State Governor, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, was named Director-General of the campaign, while Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, will serve as Secretary.

The APC National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Bashiru, and Hadiza Bala-Usman were named Deputy Secretary and Assistant Secretary respectively.

The campaign council will also have a team of senior political leaders serving as advisers to the Chairman, including Chief Bisi Akande, Chief Segun Osoba, Senator Rochas Okorocha, Senator Abdullahi Adamu and Senator Florence Ita-Giwa.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas, and Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni were assigned as Deputy Director-Generals for the Southern and Northern parts of the country, alongside Senator Bamidele Opeyemi and Senator Jibril Barau.

Senator Adams Oshiomhole was named Deputy Director-General in charge of Mobilisation, while the President’s Chief of Staff will serve as Deputy Director-General for Administration.

James Abiodun Faleke, who played a prominent role in the previous presidential campaign, was retained as Deputy Director-General in charge of Election Planning, Coordination and Monitoring.

Faleke will work with zonal directors including Senator Olushola Adeyeye for the South-West, Dr. Ngozi Olejeme for the South-South, Senator Uche Ekwunife for the South-East, Muntaqha Rabe for the North-West, Ahmed Muhammed Ketso for the North-Central and Senator Sani Danladi for the North-East.

Ms. Stella Okotete, Engineer Abdullahi Garba Ramat and Audu Maikori were also named as secretaries of the Election Planning Directorate.

President Tinubu has charged members of the campaign council to work tirelessly towards securing victory for the APC in the 2027 presidential election, while encouraging directorate leaders to engage other party members and stakeholders who may not have been formally listed but are willing to contribute to the campaign.

For Abba Isa, the new responsibility represents both a recognition of his contributions to disability inclusion and an opportunity to deepen the political participation of persons with disabilities.

With the disability community representing a significant constituency of Nigerian voters, his mandate is expected to focus on building bridges, strengthening grassroots engagement and ensuring that persons with disabilities are not only recognised as voters but actively involved in the political process.

His appointment has consequently continued to generate goodwill from colleagues, friends, associates and disability rights advocates, who have described it as a significant step towards greater political inclusion for persons with disabilities under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
